Suzie Giacomelli

Bio

In her work for CFM, Suzie’s love for writing, business, relationship-building and graphic design merge perfectly in public relations. She brings curiosity, zest, tenacity and a tireless work ethic to each of her projects, along with expertise in traditional, new and social media.

She created two social media educational events during 2009: “Your Digital Life: Risks, Opportunities and Practical Applications of Social Media” for the University of Oregon; and, “Social Media: More Than Kids Play” for CFM.

Suzie is a 2009 graduate of the U of O’s School of Journalism and Communication where she earned a BA degree in Journalism: Public Relations with a minor in Communication Studies. She is the 2009 recipient of the Phyllis Van Kimmel Bell Leadership Award, one of the school’s highest honors presented to one student each year, and a member of Kappa Tau Alpha - an honorary professional organization for outstanding talent in journalism and mass communication.

Prior to joining CFM in December 2009, Suzie worked with national Advance Teams during President Obama’s two 2008 appearances at the U of O. She also has worked on PR projects for the Cascades Raptor Center and the Eugene Gluten Intolerance Group.

Suzie loves the performing arts and dance, which she studied formally for more than 15 years. She performed with the University of Oregon’s Jam Squad at Blazer games and with the Eugene Ballet Company in its Nutcracker. She appeared in numerous productions by her hometown studio, including the lead role in Beauty and the Beast, at the Ross Ragland Theater. She is an avid photographer and loves cooking and travel.
